For more than 90 years, Knirps has focused on the further development and improvement of umbrellas. High quality materials are used such as aluminium from aircraft construction or carbon elements as known from the motorsport sector. In addition, we take care to make a sustainable contribution to the environment. For this reason, we still repair many umbrellas to avoid unnecessary waste. In addition, we use a so-called "ecorepel" coating on some models, which is biodegradable and made of natural materials. This coating ensures that the umbrella roof repels water and protection.
It is important to us that our umbrellas and sunshades have a long life span of several years and that you will have many years of pleasure with your little one. We always make sure that the workmanship and the materials used are of the highest quality.
Unfortunately, vouchers cannot be added to the order afterwards due to accounting reasons. We would ask you to redeem the voucher with your next order.
The invoice will be automatically sent to you by e-mail after the order is completed.

Shipping with parcel service
The shipping of umbrellas within Germany and Austria is free.
Your ordered goods will be sent as a parcel by DHL / GLS / DPD depending on the country.
For all other countries, shipping costs of 9.90 Euro each will be charged under a shopping cart value of € 59.00.
Shipping with forwarding agency
From a shopping cart value of € 179.00 the shipping with the forwarding agency is free of charge. Below this value, shipping costs for a forwarding delivery € 39.90.
When ordering a parasol (and / or accessories) be sure to specify your phone number - under which you can be reached during the day - so that a smooth delivery (notification by carrier / truck) can be guaranteed.
IMPORTANT: Deliveries by forwarding agency / truck will ONLY be made to the curb!
Please note that the date agreed between you and the forwarding agent is binding. ATTENTION - in case of non-acceptance of the goods on the agreed date and / or a second delivery necessary as a result, additional costs of € 50.
All of the Knirps premium sun shades offer highest UV protection (80-100) and are available in various color designs and different sizes. Also some of our umbrellas (mainly summer models) have a 95% UV protection (=50+) against UVA&UVB rays.
During the ordering process you may change your order at any time. As soon as the order has shipped, though, it can only be canceled.
After you found the desired item and selected it by clicking “Add to my cart”, you can redeem your gift certificate during the check out process. Please go to “Gift Certificate” and enter your code in the according box. The amount will automatically be deducted from the total amount.
If your order is already on its way to you, you can refuse to accept it with parcel services - for deliveries with a forwarding agent, please contact us in advance - we will clarify with the forwarding agent whether extra costs will be incurred for you. If your delivery has already been delivered and you wish to cancel and return the goods, you can return the goods with the enclosed return label.
If you have not received a return label with the package, please contact us and we will send you a free return label.
Please contact us beforehand in case of a return shipment by the shipping company, so that we can arrange a pickup for you.

No, you do not need an customer account to place an order. You can order as a guest, only entering your first and last name, your billing and delivery address, as well as your phone number and email address for delivery.
As soon as you successfully placed your order, you can relax, lean back and look forward to your Knirps umbrella. You will receive an automated order confirmation mail. If you don’t receive one, please check your spam folder. If you can’t find the email there either, please contact the Knirps Online Shop team.
You will find the delivery times on the article detail page as soon as you have chosen the respective model / design / color of the article. These delivery times refer mainly to shipping in Germany and Austria. Excluded are articles (parasols & accessories), which are delivered by forwarding agency / truck. Here the customer is contacted by phone and a delivery date is fixed. In this regard we ask you to give us your telephone number already with your order.
Please note that the date agreed between you and the forwarding agent is binding.
If the goods are not accepted at the agreed date and a second delivery is necessary, additional costs of 50 € will be charged. You will find more detailed information in our shipping information.
If a defective item has been delivered to you, we are naturally very sorry.
Please send us a picture of the defect as well as a short description by e-mail and we will immediately find a suitable solution.
Shipping by parcel service
In the case of parcel serviceable goods, you will receive the parcel number by e-mail for tracking purposes as soon as the parcel has been handed over to the shipping service provider. If you did not receive a parcel number, please check your spam folder.
If the e-mail is not there either, please contact us and we will gladly provide you with the parcel number.
Shipping by forwarding agency
Approximately 4 days after completion of the order, the shipping company will arrange a delivery date with you by telephone before delivery. If you have given an invalid phone number when ordering, please contact us so that we can give the correct phone number to the shipping company.
All Knirps umbrellas are well impregnated and therefore water-repellent. If you want to refresh the impregnation, you can impregnate the canopy at any time with a standard impregnation spray for textiles.
In order for your Knirps umbrella to be a trusty companion offering protection for many years, it should be fully opened for complete drying after each use. Once it is dry, close/fold it and close the band, but not too tight. If you need to clean your umbrella, use a soft cloth moistened with plain water as cleaning products may destroy the waterproof coating.
We send parcel serviceable goods with the transport company GLS.
Forwarding goods are sent with the Dachser forwarding company. This company will arrange a delivery date with you by telephone.
Austria and other EU countries
Parcel goods are sent by the delivery service DPD.
Forwarding goods are delivered by the transport company Gebrüder Weiß. They will arrange a delivery date with you by telephone
Yes, for orders in the Original Knirps Online Shop we do repair umbrellas. Please contact us or send us an e-mail (model type: e.g. Knirps X1; with a photo of the defective area as well as the handle of the umbrella) with your request, or contact your dealer.

Although we do our utmost to build extremely reliable gliders by using robust, high-quality materials, damage due to wear and tear or strong wind is not included in our warranty. In the case of parasols, we recommend closing them in case of wind, rain or snow, securing them with Velcro tape and using a protective cover. Using the minimum base weight, Knirps parasols can withstand a wind speed of max. 25 km/h (corresponds to a moderate breeze = approx. wind force 4) without any problems.
Please note that you only have warranty claims against the seller (dealer) from whom you purchased the item.
The majority of our umbrellas are constructed to withstand inversion (the umbrella being turned inside out). They can, however, should it happen, easily be folded back by closing the umbrella. This is a safety mechanism to avoid breaking the ribs.
All Knirps umbrellas are technologically advanced to minimize the risk of wind damage. Therefore, our umbrella frames have added flexibility to reduce the stress on the ribs.
