With Horizon, we are focused on sustainability in practice and a new environmental awareness that doesn’t exist with umbrellas yet. We want to support you to live sustainably even with your umbrella. In this way, we can do a collective good for our environment. Our materials are innovative and protect the environment. The 100 percent biodegradable plastic material from Trifilon®, which makes up the handle, runner, and top, replaces regular plastic and safeguards the environment. The umbrella canopy is made with recycled PET material and coated with environmentally friendly PFC-free water- and dirt-repellant. A five-year warranty and competent repair service reinforce our promise of quality. The environment remains in our focus and further developments will follow.

UMBRELLA MADE FROM SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

Every year, about a billion umbrellas are thrown away, mostly because of their poor quality. What if we no longer value the things that surround us?

Since its foundation in 1928 in Germany with the invention of the foldable umbrella, Knirps can look back on a long history of innovations with products of the highest quality. The Knirps Horizon is the youngest member of the Knirps family and stands for a new environmental awareness combined with the renowned Knirps quality.

The material used for the plastic components, Trifilon® Switch, is made from organic feedstock. It is completely degradable and recyclable.

Trifilon®'s 100% biodegradable plastic helps protect our environment from harmful microplastics. Trifilon® enables manufacturers to develop attractive products that reduce CO2-emissions. The material used for the handle, slider and top, Trifilon® Switch, is made from organic materials. Its processing represents a further step towards sustainable management.

The canopy is made of recycled PET with an eco-friendly, PFC-free water- and dirt-repellent coating.
