Every year, about a billion umbrellas are thrown away, mostly because of their poor quality. Shouldn't we appreciate the things around us more?

Since its founding in Germany in 1928 with the invention of the folding umbrella, Knirps has a long history of innovation and products of the highest quality. A 5-year warranty and expert repair service are part of our commitment to quality.

The material used for the plastic components, Trifilon Switch, is made from organic raw materials.
It is a biocomposite that is 90 % free from fossil-based raw materials, recyclable and industrially compostable. Under certified industrial composting conditions, the material fully decomposes in less than 40 days*.
 
*Compostability applies exclusively under industrial composting conditions – not suitable for home composting.

Rohmaterial fĂĽr Trifilon Switch

Trifilon® Switch composite material is used for the handle, slider and cap. By using this material for selected components, the umbrella incorporates an alternative material solution, combining reliable functionality with a distinctive material concept.

The umbrella canopy is made from recycled polyester (rPET); the exact recycled content is specified in the product details. The water- and dirt-repellent ecorepel® finish is produced without the intentional addition of PFAS. Inspired by the natural water-repellent effect of duck feathers, it helps water and dirt roll off the canopy more easily.
